Coca Cola Enterprises Head Office Uxbridge

The Problem
The existing desks and chairs on five floors of the head office were in need of replacement to meet current Health & Safety legislation.

The client decided to take the opportunity to refurbish, re-plan layouts, relocate departments, upgrade meeting and break-out facilities and generally improve the working environment for 500 staff at the same time.

The Solution
Master Group were appointed by HDI Solutions, the client’s preferred suppliers, to work with Coca Cola’s facilities department space planning to achieve a smooth transformation.

The work was carried out on a carefully planned rolling programme to minimise disruption.
Where complete refurbishment was required, the whole floor was closed for the minimum time possible to allow complete strip out and installation of new suspended ceilings and lighting, new partitions, relocation of floor boxes including any new boxes, power and data cabling, redecoration, new carpet tiling and installation of new furniture.
In other areas which were not being completely refurbished, partition alterations were carried out at night during the week, in preparation for reconfiguration and replacement of furniture at weekends.

The weekend work was organised on a continuous 2-day x 24 hour operation with a succession of different gangs, commencing with removal of existing furniture and floor coverings on Friday night, followed by reconfiguration of floor boxes, relocation of under floor ventilation ducts and grilles overnight, re-carpeting on Saturday morning, installation of screens on Saturday afternoon and night, installation of new desks on Sunday through to completion of IT installation on Sunday night, with final placing of personal item crates next to correct desks and cleaning overnight, ready for handover by 07.00 on Monday morning.
